The symbol of that special Italian country atmosphere, warm, welcoming and appealing is found in Tuscany or in nearby Umbria.  These two Italian regions are surely the most well known country wedding destinations in Italy.  They are located alongside each other in central Italy, and they are the cradle of Italian culture: Florence, Pisa, Siena, Lucca, the amazing Chianti hills and many medieval towns along white roads.  Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio, Orvieto and Spoleto are all wonderful towns in Umbria with a magic countryside surrounding them.

Sunflowers, olive groves and mild temperatures for outdoor wedding receptions in villas, agriturismo or hamlets will let you feel relaxed and in perfect harmony with nature, tasting amazing food and great Chianti or Sangiovese wines.  But there are many other solutions for a country wedding in Italy. Off the beaten track destinations that could make the difference.

Piemonte (Piedmont)

The Piemonte region for example, with its amazing Langhe, Roero and Monferrato areas – part of UNESCO Wold Heritage since 2013.
The Piemonte (in English, Piedmont) region is located in north west Italy bordering France, Switzerland and the Italian Riviera. It could be a perfect destination for a Country Wedding.  It is where the former Italian Royal family of Savoy used to live, where the nation was born back in 1800. In this region you will find Lake Orta and Lake Maggiore, winter destinations as Sestriere and Sauze d’Oulx, the Baroque city of Turin (Torino) and the wonderful countryside in Langhe and Monferrato, close to Alba, Bra and Asti.  It is an undiscovered land where you will find wonderful cosy atmospheres.

Langhe Roero and Monferrato country areas are lands of beautiful landscapes, with lovely medieval villages on top of the hills, vineyards, castles, and villas.  It could be the perfect setting for a romantic wedding and most of all for great food, truffles and the best known Italian wines such as Nebbiolo, Barolo, Barbaresco and Moscato.

Franciacorta

Just to the side of the Piemonte region, we can find the Franciacorta area. It is located in the Lombardy region close to Milan and Lake Como.  It is an undiscovered Italian jewel. Fine wine lovers know it very well for its sparkling wines, considered the Italian champagne.  Charming vineyards and lovely unspoiled countryside can be the perfect setting for a classy wedding.  Noble mansions and villas, ancient churches and town halls can be just perfect for a country wedding, while still retaining a touch of charm, class and style.

Valpolicella

Moving east you can discover the Valpolicella region. It is located not far from Verona, Lake Garda and Venice.  It is another land of wonderful wines, and the land of Italian Prosecco!  Everybody loves Prosecco!  Ancient nobles used to come here to spend their holidays and their elegant villas and mansions are still available to host wonderful wedding receptions. You’ll find beautiful hills, waterfalls, caves, green countryside, cypress, olive figues, lemon trees  and of course, vines hills! The perfect landscape for a country wedding.

Tuscia

Moving south close to Rome we find Tuscia. Never heard of it? We tell you more!

Tuscia is located in the Lazio region, not far from Rome and Tuscany. It is the land of Ancient Etruscans, where Ancient Romans come from. Undiscovered medieval villages, with enchanting olive tree hills and the beautiful towns of Viterbo or Civita di Bagnoregio will make you feel like you’re in paradise!

Puglia (Apulia)

But if you love the warm Mediterranean atmosphere and being close to the sea, Puglia (in English Apulia) could be the perfect destination. Apulia is a brand new trendy destination for country weddings.  It is located in south east Italy. It is the so-called ‘heel of the Italian boot’. A wonderful land famous for its Adriatic sea coast, where you can also find amazing white farms, relais surrounded by unspoiled countryside, castles, villas and most of all, enchanting Masserias – the most recognisable expressions of Apulian architecture together with famous Trulli of Alberobello where you can plan a real original wedding, with a dive into rural Italian history.

Puglia has olive groves, bougavilles, lemons and a wonderful mild temperature for a unique Italian stay.  Traditional Mediterranen cusine and Negroamaro wine with Pizzica dance to follow creates a memorable wedding party under a wonderful Italian summer sky.
