A Winter Elopement to Lake Tahoe by Lauren Lindley Photography
A little winter wedding inspiration for you today, in the form of Shelly and Brian’s elopement to stunning Lake Tahoe on the border of California and Nevada. The couple held their ceremony in the private surrounds of Emerald Bay, one of the most picturesque spots to take in the gorgeous alpine lake views from high up on the mountainside. Lake Tahoe is one of those crazy beautiful locations that looks spectacular year round, although, I have to admit that I have a bit of a weakness for winter weddings. As a winter bride myself, I always love to see snow in wedding photos. It’s just the icing on the cake!
From the Photographer: The first vacation Shelly and Brian ever took together was three months into their relationship and he brought her to Lake Tahoe. Fast forward eight years: Shelly and Brian have decided to elope in Tahoe. Not only was Tahoe the first trip they took together, but they returned almost every year since, so Tahoe holds a very special place in their heart. I was honoured they contacted me to photograph their day, which was officiated by Lake of the Sky Weddings. Although it had been fairly overcast and crummy the day before the wedding, their late afternoon ceremony was cool, sunny and offered gorgeous views of Emerald Bay with very few tourists in site. After that, we headed down to one of my favorite portrait locations, Valhalla Estates.
