Destination Wedding in the Adriatic Islands by Dalmatia Events
It was only just last month that we featured our very first Croatian wedding on the blog, but I have absolutely fallen in love with this gorgeous corner of the world. So much so, that we’re back there today . . . in exactly the same location! Palmizana is a beautiful Mediterranean island located just off the coast of another beautiful Mediterranean island. Sounds pretty good so far, right?? It also happens to be home to Resaturant Zori, one of the finest restaurants in the area, and in my opinion, one of the best places in the Adriatic to kick back, raise a toast and enjoy a long leisurely afternoon on one of the happiest days of your life. And that’s just what Marilyn and Scott did recently, after becoming husband and wife in the grounds of an ancient monastery on neighbouring island, Hvar. Wedding Planner extraordinaire, Milda of Dalmatia Events sets the scene . . .
From the Wedding Planner: Marilyn and Scott are a Croatian-Canadian couple who have chosen Croatia for their wedding as Marilyn’s family and she herself has roots in this beautiful country and have been coming here for many years. The island of Hvar and the tiny island Palmizana next to it was a winner when looking for the perfect venue – nothing can beat their charm and uniqueness. Imagine this – you come to one of the most beautiful islands in the entire Mediterranean, get married in an ancient monastery there and then take ANOTHER boat to go to your reception at the restaurant on a tiny island right on the beach and with a priceless view. We’ve got a winner here! Marilyn, Scott and their families and friends have arrived to Croatia a week before the wedding and have taken the time to explore, relax and be together. The wedding was very intimate and laid back- just closest family and friends. The groom was waiting at the altar and everyone was smitten by 2 bridesmaids and 3 lovely junior bridesmaids with their matching dresses and tiny bouquets! After the ceremony and having a toast with prosecco the guests moved to the boats that brought them to Palmizana island and Zori restaurant for champagne and canapes and Marilyn and Scott went to their photo shoot in Hvar town. The narrow streets, bays and squares were a perfect setting and the photographer Maja Jokic has done more than her best to get these shots! After the shoot Marilyn, Scott and Maja jumped on a speed boat and arrived at the restaurant to be welcomed by their family and friends. A nice, long and delicious dinner followed with speeches, toasts, emotions and laughter.
