A Scenic Elopement to Alaska by Erica Rose Photography
Of all the amazing destination weddings that we feature here on the BWB blog, my favourites are always the ones that really embrace their location, whether that means celebrating in a beautiful historic building, eating the local cuisine or toasting with the local drop, or even incorporating local customs and traditions into the wedding day. And every once in a while it simply means finding the right location, and just letting it shine. Who needs a church, flowers, decorations, or even an altar, when you have a backdrop as magnificent as this?
From the Photographer: I can’t put in to words how perfectly, amazingly beautiful Clif & Grace’s elopement at Bird Point was. Honestly, I had goosebumps as I was shooting. It was incredible. The location, the light, Cliff & Grace and the two family members who came from New York to witness their marriage…everything was just lovely. This is another example of finding the amazing location and making it happen, even if the bride has to hike there in three inch heels! Clif & Grace have a sense of adventure that I absolutely love, it opens up so many more possibilities for from the photographer’s point of view. When it comes to elopements, I’m a believer…elope in Alaska everyone. It can be pretty incredible.
