Engagement Session in the Dolomites by Be Light Photography
I’ve spoken before about couples who marry overseas, and how they will always have a love affair with the location where they became husband and wife. The same is true of honeymoon destinations though, and for some couples, the location of their engagement photos can be pretty special also. Whing and Clement are based in the USA, but wanted to capture the time before their wedding in one of their favourite spots in Europe, the Alps. It’s a concept that we’re seeing more and more often: pre-wedding photography in spectacular locations. Sometimes couples want some amazing photos to show at their reception, sometimes they want the scenic shots without the destination wedding, and sometimes they just want to document a location that they love – exactly like Whing and Clement. And I have to say that I share their love affair with Italy’s spectacular Dolomites. We spent part of our honeymoon there, in a little ski resort called Madonna di Campiglio. It was the most amazing few days, skiing, drinking Aperol spritzers, eating the most incredible four course feasts every night, cruising the resort’s glitzy boutiques . . . . Ahhhhh, give me any excuse to go back! Thank you to Laura and Dragos of Be Light Photography for being our tour guides today, and a very big ‘Congratulations’ to Whing and Clement, who just tied the knot back in the States this summer!
From the Photographers: We started the photo session early morning in Innsbruck, Tyrol, Austria. We took some photographs in the Old Town (Altstadt), on the Old Inn Bridge, then we went up on a hill so we had a panoramic view of the city and the surroundings. After that we headed to Val di Funes, in north-east of Italy, where we had an amazing view of the Dolomites. We had a short stop somewhere close to the border between Austria and Italy for some shots in a vineyard.
