Stunning Clifftop Elopement on the Isle of Skye by Lynne Kennedy
Today’s lovely affair was actually inspired by a wedding blog! Texan couple Natalie and Ross fell in love with a Scottish wedding that they’d spotted on another blog, and decided that it was the perfect spot for their own wedding day. With so much amazing scenery to choose from, the pair narrowed it down to the Isle of Skye and decided on a stunning cliff top elopement.
It’s actually the first time we’ve featured Scotland on the blog. Let’s see if we can inspire a few more couples to run away to the Isle of Skye with this gorgeous example!
From the Photographer: This amazing Isle of Skye elopement took place on a glorious March morning. Natalie and Ross (who celebrated his 26th birthday on his honeymoon in Scotland) had travelled all the way from Texas in the USA to marry at a ruined castle on the Isle of Skye – on top of a cliff no less! The couple met in a bar three years ago, when they were out with their friends but they didn’t really talk much until later that night, at a party at a friend’s house. They clicked instantly and carried on chatting until 7am in the morning. A few days later, Ross acquired Natalie’s number, they went out on a proper date and the rest, as they say, is history. Fast forward three years and Ross proposed at their home, in the living room, where he’d constructed a makeshift tent with flowers, candles and a dinner of salmon, champagne and cookies! So, why did they decide on a Skye elopement? “We were planning a VACATION and had seen a wedding in Scotland on a blog. We thought it looked lovely so we decided to just to have our vacation here and get married at the same time!” Natalie said. So here is the story of this gorgeous couple’s special day.
